03/24/2009 My husband was called away to a business meeting out of town not too long ago. He is not the suit and tie type, but for this meeting he needed to dress up. We went to 1/2 of 1/2 and found a suit that was very handsome. The original tag was asking for $949.00! We paid 49.99. I couldn't belive that we saved $900 dollars. Of course not all of the bargains at 1/2 of 1/2 are that extravagant, but they are all worth the trip to the store to discover what you will find! J & K 03/12/2009 Where has this store been all my life. As a military spouse this store is absolutely fabulous. For the past three years I have bought numerous gowns for different social fuctions that would have cost me well over $150 dollars each. But with your store I can buy one fabulous dress for just $29. Yes it may need alterations but at my height what dress isn't. I love that can shop for all my family and friends and still live within my means. My sister's husband lost his job, and then they lost their house. Everything bad happened at once for them and the worse part was that the kids had NO winter clothes. My sister said the boys were going to school in shorts, but they thought it made them "look tough", wearing shorts in 40 degree weather. So as long as they thought it was cool, she "didn't feel like such a bad mother". This broke my heart and I immediately went to 1/2 of 1/2. I’m so addicted and find myself reliving my childhood when my mother would take us nearly all day shopping at a store named Concord City, which later became Value City in Dayton OH. The only thing I wish is that you offered more selection of young boys clothes, sizes 14-20. I have a 10-year-old son and he hates going cause there is not too much for him to chose from. I have been in love with your store a long time, we go way back. I hadn’t been there lately, and just by chance stopped with my husband who doesn’t like to spend money on a lot of clothes, and is a very conservative man; he’s also a pastor. But when he got in there and spent only 66% and less on shirts, a sports jacket, and socks…he got hooked, and now it’s “Honey, when are you going back to half of half?” I even found out he’s been there without me! Our friends that live there told us about your store. I’m absolutely “HOOKED!” Please put a store in Houston or a little closer to Houston. I bought a lot of things whcich amounted to 3X as much stuff than I would have gotten in the mall. My friends all thought I was crazy when I changed my work schedule around to be off on Wednesday to catch the new week. Last week I got a BCBG dress for .99 cents! It had the original tag of $264! It was stained and the zipper was broken. A little elbow grease and a new zipper and the dress is good as new, only much less! My kids needed new coats for this winter and with a family of 6, you could imagine what buying everyone new coats would typically cost us. We shop there on an average of two times a week. The money we’ve saved for the quality clothing we get is beyond compare. I frankly don’t see how we could wear some of the good clothing we have without you. We shop at the other “discount” stores but do not get even close to the quality of merchandise we get at NBC. We were talking about needing to find a store with three-dollar shirts and stuff and at that moment I was driving past your store. I said hey I just saw a store that says half of half, should I try it? It was kind of a joke, but then I went in there and found tons of awesome stuff. We have one here in North Little Rock and one in Hot Springs. I just wish there was another in the city I live in which is Jacksonville, Arkansas. I was able to buy stylish clothes for all three of my daughters and myself, even while I was a single mom. We too, have taken advantage of the wonderful savings on beautiful prom and formal dresses for under $20 each. The best find by far is the six Zum-Zum matching dresses for bridesmaids and a white Jump formal for a wedding gown for $115! All the more money for photos, etc.!! My girlfriend wears plus sizes and she was surprised to find things that were attractive and that fit well and cost next to nothing. She got a sweater, hand-knit, that originally sold for $54. Subject: Great Store Hi, We were visiting relatives in the Springfield MO area and we ended up stopping at your NBC store. I had never even heard of such a store and didn't think I would be impressed...but I was!!!! We are getting ready to go on a cruise and I needed an evening gown. Who wants to pay a big price for something to wear one night? I found a beautiful Scott McClintock gown that had been over $200 for $49. I was thrilled but after reading the other comments sounds like there are some even better deals. Wish I didn't live so far away, I would be there every week and have the best wardrobe in town!!! The gowns are all I had time to look at that day but sure do want to come back when I have more time. Thank you so much for giving people such a good quality store for such little cost. My husband and I decided to check the store out in Omaha, Nebraska this week after a friend told us about it. After shopping with my sister in Joplin, MO at a ½ of ½ price store, I just wish you would open a store in my home state, Minnesota! My daughter got a $200 prom dress for $25 and I got a 3pc.
